History of “Cuisines of India”

Over the years cultures fused, styles blended, and nothing quite benefited like cooking. New curries were conjured and magical masalas were mastered. The evolution of cooking competed with the evolution of men. Women discovered that the way to a man's heart was not through an incision of the left chest but through his stomach.

Thankfully, lessons of glorious past have come home to us at the Kashmir Restaurant. Here the emphasis is only the finest cuisine. At Kashmir Restaurant we use a wide range of exotic spices, delicate herbs, in a variety and combination in all our food preparation.

As for the food, there is no such single thing as “Indian Cuisine”, but rather there are “Cuisines of India” – the scope of Indian cooking is very wide and encompasses centuries of life, and the ethos of the Indian people and their history. At the Kashmir Restaurant you will experience meals from the region North India. The Mogul influence is very evident in north Indian cuisine – the rich curries and kebabs perfected by the Chefs from Kashmir are example of the influence.

With a dash of authentic Indian heritage and a repertoire of preparation, we trust you'll find the experience delightfully pleasurable. After all, the cuisine is thousands of years old.
